St. Leonard's RetreatJune 7 to 9 Please join us at King's Fold Retreat & Renewal Centre for a time of spiritual reflection and retreat led by The Rev. Chris Roth. From time to time Christians are called to take time away from their regular lives in order to devote time to their own spiritual growth. Jesus modeled this by spending time on his own in the wilderness, and also withdrawing from the busyness and demands of the crowds to spend time in prayer.
During retreat we make time for prayer and reflection. There will be times when we gather for prayer in the morning and in the evening. We will eat meals together, and we will gather for times of reflection and teaching on the spiritual life. There will also be time for you to pray and reflect on your own. This retreat is in a beautiful place and there will be time to sit by a fire, or walk in creation.
More information and how to register can be found at the St. Leonard's Anglican Church Facebook page. |

Easter Season Book StudyA Faith of Many Rooms: Inhabiting a More Spacious Christianity by Debie Thomas Debie Thomas writes both memoir and theological reflection about her journey to a faith that is spacious, and where she belongs. "Thomas knows what a cramped faith feels like, what it's like to wrestle your way out of fundamentalism and toward a more capacious faith. From the diasporic church in which she grew up, which traces its lineage to the doubting disciple in India in the first century, to the disorientations of a deconstructing faith, to an ample yet orthodox Chirstianity that makes room for all her identities, Thomas takes readers on a deeply personal and profoundly theological odyssey." Dates: April 23, 30 and May 7 at 7:00 pm Location: St. Laurence Anglican Church, 5940 Lakeview Dr. SW, Calgary To register or for more information, please contact Rev. Jane. |
